Street Swags' PledgePage

Street Swags was founded in 2005 by Brisbane school teacher, Jean Madden. While watching a documentary on homelessness, Jean recognised the need to produce a sleeping bag that alleviated the negative effects that a lack of sleep and sleeping on cement have on physical and mental health of the homeless.

The Street Swag is a waterproof sleeping bag that folds up into a carry bag. The swag is practical, portable, easy to roll up, and cheap to produce for the city's homeless. It is also designed so that when it rolls up it doesn't look like bedding when it is being carried so it preserves the dignity of its users and makes the swags less likely to be stolen.

Street Swags relies on donations from the public to keep producing and distributing swags to the homeless.
